6.3.2Levitation forces of a four-HTS-bulk array [25]


The different arrays of four YBCO bulks are shown in Fig. 6.2. The levitation forces
over PMG for arrays 1, 2, 3, and 4 at 5-mm levitation gap were 267.0, 221.1, 203.8, and
279.5 N, respectively (Fig. 6.3a). The levitation forces over the PMG for arrays 1, 2, 3, and
4 at 15 mm levitation gap were 139.7, 119.6, 126.3, and 152.2 N, respectively (Fig. 6.3a).
Figure 6.3 shows that the levitation force of array 4 was the largest and that of array 3
was the smallest. Table 6.2 lists the levitation forces of different arrays.
