LEFT AND BELOW
Ye Olde Bell
and Steelyard,
watercolour and
pencil on paper
“After a little colour
had been added,
I decided to switch
the focus onto the
red house further
down the street,
playing down the
obvious choice of
the pub’s dominant
features.”

RIGHT Newbury
Town Hall,
watercolour and
ink on paper
“The detail was
added using a
steel pen dipped
in acrylic ink. This
is ideal for drawing
a loose, scratchy
line suggesting the
building’s age.”
