Figure 2. Screenshots of UniProt. (a) Welcome screen of UniProt. You can see the
search bar in the top of the web page, and ‘advanced’ and ‘search’ buttons on the right of
the search bar. (b) The result list given after search. (c) Protein information page. In the
black box mark is the ‘structure’ navigation button. (d) Structure-related information of
selected protein.

III. From the given search result list, pick the one(s) that match your protein
and click its (their) accession number to enter its (their) page (Fig. 2(b)).
IV. Inspect information given by UniProt to make sure it is your selected
protein. If it is confirmed to be your protein of interest, take note of its
accession number for further use (Fig. 2(c)).
V. Navigate to ‘Structure’ section by clicking ‘Structure’ button on the left
panel (Fig. 2(c)).
VI. Here, you may see one or more links to Protein Data Banks if
experimental structure exists. You can see some links to ModBase and
Protein Model Portal. You may click on those links and check if the
structures provided in those sites are acceptable for your standard. You
may also check quality of the models with the quality check server listed
below (in Secs. 5 and 6, Fig. 2(d)).
