Genetics of Apoptosis

cell-death machinery upon developmental and environmental signals have to be
further elucidated. In addition, some emphasis has to be placed on the further
elaboration of the corpse-engulfment and degradation pathway. It is thus likely that
studies using C. elegans will continue to shed light on the conserved mechanisms of
programmed cell death that may guide studies in vertebrate apoptosis.
