The NGC is a federal government resource that contains practice guidelines.
NGC is available free of charge from the Agency for Healthcare Research and
Quality (AHRQ); its mission is to provide a resource for objective, detailed in-
formation on clinical practice guidelines. The database includes summaries about
the guidelines, links to full texts where available, and a guidelines comparison
chart.


The National Institutes of Health (NIH) RePORTER is a federal government
database that lists biomedical research projects funded by the NIH as well as the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), AHRQ, Health Resources
and Services Administration (HRSA), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Ser-
vices Administration (SAMHSA), and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
RePORTER allows extensive field searching, hit lists that can be sorted and
downloaded in Microsoft Excel, NIH funding for each project (expenditures),
and publications and patents that have acknowledged support from each project
(results).


PubMed Health is a free database from the National Center for Biotechnology
Information (NCBI) at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). PubMed
Health provides information on the prevention and treatment of diseases and
conditions. Resources are focused on reviews of clinical effectiveness research for
clinicians and easy-to-read summaries for consumers.


The Virginia Henderson International Nursing Library, a service offered through
the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, offers nurses on-
line access to reliable information that can be easily utilized and shared. The li-
brary’s complimentary Registry of Nursing Research database allows searches of
both study and conference abstracts. Primary investigator contact information is
also available for requests of full-text versions of studies.


The TRIP is a clinical search tool designed to allow health professionals to rapid-
ly identify the highest-quality evidence for clinical practice. It searches hundreds
of evidence-based medicine and nursing websites that contain synopses, clini-
cal answers, textbook information, clinical calculators, systematic reviews, and
guidelines.
