(^230) Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-Based Practice: Model and Guidelines, Third Edition
Summary
Post-survey showed that nurses increased their knowledge and adherence to
guidelines for obtaining aPTT samples from patients with central lines with
Heparin infusing concurrently. As a team, the nurses were able to use the JH-
NEBP Model to guide decision-making and development of a guideline for this
infrequent procedure. The abstract has been presented formally within the or-
ganization with the focus on nursing process. Lastly, the use of the EBP process
improved the nurses’ attitudes toward evidence integration into practice, and the
findings motivated the nurses to consider conducting research to measure patient
outcome.
