the “Liverpool phytoplankton database” (LPD).

Goldman and Carpenter (1974) examined the temperature responses of several
species in chemostats. They used an Arrhenius plot (Fig. 3.19) to present the data, and
fitted an Arrhenius-type equation to it, rate = f(1/T in °K). Their description of results
for a number of species is:
