Marine Ecology Research Centre, Southern Cross University
Southern Cross University’s Marine Ecology Research Centre (MERC) delivers
research on coral reefs, cetacean ecology, marine chemistry, human impacts,
fisheries and aquaculture, and marine biodiversity. With staff and students at
Lismore and Coffs Harbour, we provide world-leading marine science research that
is regionally relevant, and nationally and internationally significant.


Northern Territory Department of Environment and Natural Resources
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources provides advice and
support for the sustainable development of the Northern Territory’s land and water
and conservation of its native f lora and fauna. Within this agency, the Flora and
Fauna Division undertakes scientific assessment and monitoring of the Territory’s
biodiversity, including threatened species.


NSW Office of the Environment and Heritage
The Office of the Environment and Heritage (OEH) works to enrich life in NSW by
helping the community to conserve and enjoy our environment and heritage.
OEH’s Saving our Species program is the NSW Government’s framework for
managing threatened species – it identifies the requirements for securing
threatened species and ecological communities in NSW from extinction for the
next 100 years.


Parks Australia
Parks Australia manages seven Commonwealth national parks, the Australian
National Botanic Gardens and Australia’s network of Commonwealth marine
reserves. Our national parks range from Christmas Island and Pulu Keeling in the
Indian Ocean to Norfolk Island in the Pacific, Booderee (NSW south coast) and
World Heritage-listed Kakadu and Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Parks (Northern
Territory).
