Roadracing World – April 2019

(Martin Jones) #1

"The club became real successful, and the
numbers grew," Wood says. "And our guys were
competing on the National level. We had a lot
of guys go become National champions, and we
had guys race internationally. We would train
riders with the goal that when they raced at the
National level, they were competitive."

It is a mark of the success and quality of
the education provided by these schools and
training programs that they're still in business,
and that National and International Champion-
ship-winning racers have attended them. And
it's proof that speed isn't just inherent, but it has
to be honed with training and instruction.
