as intended and while it might look like a simple
little add on the search for ever increasing safety
is at the fore front of so many areas of the sport
and the helmet is just another part of what makes
it safer for the driver in today’s modern era by
say compassion to that first Indy 500 back in 1909
and a simple leather cap and goggles just wander
though the museum if you happen to be in Indy
this May or any time and look at the display they
have of the helmets over the years and just like the
development of the racing suit you kinda marvel
on the fact that the sport did not claim more in
those early years but equally how the sport never
sits still when it comes to on going development in
the name of safety. l
