The New Yorker - USA (2022-05-09)

(Antfer) #1
Each week, we provide a cartoon in need of a caption. You, the reader, submit a caption, we choose
three finalists, and you vote for your favorite. Caption submissions for this week’s cartoon, by Adam Sacks,
must be received by Sunday, May 8th. The finalists in the April 18th contest appear below. We will
announce the winner, and the finalists in this week’s contest, in the May 23rd issue. Anyone age thirteen
or older can enter or vote. To do so, and to read the complete rules, visit contest.newyorker.com.

“I thought you’d like to try it, instead of
just knocking it off the counter.”
Elizabeth Tevlin, Ottawa, Ont.

“Are you ignoring anyone else?”
Julie Peterson, Phoenix, Ariz.

“I hope it pairs well with whatever you dragged in.”
Yoni Blumberg, Brooklyn, N.Y.

“We can all hear you snoring in there, Steve.”
Matt Shannon, Byram Township, N.J.
