Porsche Cayenne

E-Hybrid
Porsche’s burgeoning performance-hybrid
strategy will expand with the new-gen
Cayenne in plug-in E-Hybrid form. With
battery capacity increased by 30 percent
and EV performance enhanced by 43
percent, it’s a far more effective SUV than
its hybrid predecessor. Able to drive 44km
(and reach 135km/h) on electricity alone,
the E-Hybrid combines a 250kW 3.0-litre
turbo-petrol V6 with a 100kW electric
motor for 340kW in total system power,
with 700Nm on tap from just above idle.
Porsche claims it’ll do 0-100km/h in 5.0sec
and nudge 253km/h, while its average

Stinger reaches for the stars
Kia’s Stinger range has finally been given
the full five stars from ANCAP. Kia Motors
Australia (KMAu) has fitted automatic
emergency braking and lane-keep assist
to the entry-level Stinger liftback variants,
resulting in five-star ratings for the entire

range. That brings the previously three-star
rated 200S and 330S in line with the rest of
the Stinger line-up, although Kia has raised
the price of these two models by $1000,
the two cars now priced at $46,990 and
$49,990 respectively.
