strength and provides a lockable glove
compartment and sturdy grab rail on
the passenger side. At the helm there
is ample space for a decent electronics
package. Seating for both driver and
passenger is about as comfortable as it
gets with swivelling buckets.
The cockpit has been designed with
keen anglers in mind, affording plenty
of uncluttered space, full length side
storage shelving, extra sub-deck storage
up front, and a lift-up compartment aft
that provides ready bilge access. Full
clip-in cockpit carpet is standard, as is
underfloor foam flotation. You can add
glued-in carpet if you prefer for a few
extra dollars. All rails, rod holders and
cleats are high quality stainless steel. I
was impressed by the transom design,
which includes a walk-through door
(with optional hinged gate).

optional extras to dress things up a bit if

the budget allows. Handy additions to the
base package are a deck-wash system,
custom bait table, hydraulic steering
upgrade, live bait tank, overhead rod
rack, seat box tackle locker and battery
isolation switch. Throw on all or some

of these and you end up with a real blue
water fishing weapon.
Haines Hunter recommends
outboards of between 115-150hp for
the 565 hull, which at first seems quite
a reasonable spread. It’s quite unusual
