It’s the start of big year in gaming; here’s
look at some of
the big games to keep an
.

e love seeing big robot-like
warriors do battle, which is
exactly what the Gundam Breaker
series is all about. Already a hit
over in Japan, this will be the first
release of the series into Australia
when it lands on June 22. As you
can see in this image your control
a Mech – a robotic suit – armed
with weapons and strong armour.
You battle through open-worlds,
unleashing combos on enemies
as you go. The simple combat and
action gets more interesting as
you start customising your mech
suits with different abilities.

For years we’ve been having fun
in the Naruto fighting games, but
this year the series is going in a
different direction. Shinobi Striker
is a team-based online game, wither
four-versus-four player gameplay.
This mixes up things quite a bit. For
starters, you need to get the balance
of fighters in your team just right
so that their powers and abilities
work well together. Plus the game is
played from a third-person over-the-
shoulder view, in big 3D worlds that
are more like an adventure game.
Very cool.

We don’t see many real-time
strategy games (RTS) anymore,
which is a shame. Commanding
whole armies in epic battles is
lots of fun. Already out on PC,
8-Bit Armies has been announced
for consoles and will offer both a
campaign and multiplayer modes
to enjoy. You begin each stage
with a simple base. You then
collect resources from the area so
you can expand your base, build
defences and recruit different
military units. You then send these
out to defeat other enemy bases.
