Southern right whales and humpback whales have started their annual
migration into Australian waters, and on Sydney-based FantaSea
Cruises you can listen in on their conversations as well as see them –
its whale-watching craft have hydrophones on board. Cruises run daily
from now until early November. Visit fantasea.com.au. For landlubbers,
Tourism Australia’s website, australia.com, lists the best viewing spots
on the east and west coasts.

Macau may be the
“Las Vegas of the East”
with its glittering resorts
and casinos, but this month
the focus turns to its parks,
gardens and flowerbeds.
The former Portuguese
colony stages its 18th Lotus
Flower Festival this year
from June 9-17. Getting into
the spirit of it, some local
restaurants will feature
lotus-themed cuisine. Visit
