A ROYAL special
Clockwise from right: Prince George
wears a tiny version of his uncle’s
uniform, replete with ruffl es and
embroidered epaulettes. Prince Harry
is Captain of the Blues and Royals,
his highest military rank. A cheerful
Princess Charlotte pokes out her
tongue and treats us to a celebratory
dance move on the chapel steps.
Little bridesmaids (from
left) Princess Charlotte, Ivy
Mulroney and Florence van
Cutsem on the stairs of the
chapel with Jessica
Mulroney (in blue) and the
Duchess of Cambridge.
The bright-eyed twin pageboys
Brian and John Mulroney peeked
from the windows of the 1950 Rolls
Royce Phantom IV that delivered
them, with the bride, to the chapel.
Their coni dent, gap-toothed grins
won hearts as they took charge of
Meghan’s delicate i ve-metre train.
The pageboys were dressed in
miniature adaptations of the Blues
and Royals frockcoat that was worn
by the groom and best man. The
bridesmaids, like the bride, were
dressed by Claire Waight Keller for
Givenchy. Their pale ivory silk
radzimir dresses with simple circular
necks, puffed sleeves and gathered
waists echoed the timeless simplicity
of Meghan’s bridal gown.
Finally, all assembled, the entourage
set out along the aisle, the little ones
gazing about and Jasper and George
exchanging a few quiet words en
route. As they passed Meghan at the
altar, she turned and smiled reassuringly,
handing her bouquet to Ivy Mulroney.
Rylan Litt, a little brunette beauty,
was the last to pass by. With a wide
smile, she touched her hand to her
forehead as if to say, ‘Phew!’ AWW GETTY IMAGES.
