Miles of high-mountain deep snow, untouched powdery mead-
ows and magnificent scenery await you in the vast areas of South-
east Idaho’s winter playground. The area which includes Caribou
National Forest and BLM land offers over 600 miles of groomed
trails. You may discover a cascading winter waterfall or follow an
almost-frozen stream, or even catch a glimpse of a wintering elk or
moose. Off the groomed trails, you can seemingly drive forever in
wide opens places or climb the mountains for a spectacular view.
There’s nothing like a mountain top view of Bear Lake’s stunning
turquoise waters. The variety of terrain and spectacular scenery
offers snowmobilers of all ability levels the chance to find challeng-
es and fun! Easy access to trail heads, and snowmobile rentals, are
available in most of the Southeastern Idaho communities. Warming
huts, yurts, and several lodges are easily accessible from the trails.
Some lodges offer snowmobile rentals and adventure packages.
After a day of crowd-free wide-open spaces, fresh air and blue
skies, rejuvenate in one of several soothing natural hot springs.
Then get up and do it all over again!
