This Stoke-on-Trent boat has elegant lines and
additional features that give a traditional style
and great handling characteristics.
With an enhanced by rivets down the stem
post and at the aft end, the elliptical Stoke boats
counter makes for easier manoeuvring away
from the bank side.
Safety when traversing the gunwales is aided
by easy grab raised handrails. Firebird is ideal for
high days, long holidays or even residential use,
with the spacious layout and three wardrobes,
ideal for two but able to accommodate up to five
adults.
Sleeping arrangements are a permanent
double, a midships dinette which instantlyconverts to a single, with a sofa bed in the
forward saloon providing the further two berths.
Unusually Firebird features two stoves in the
saloon, the convenient Lockgate diesel stove
not only acts as a room heater but silently
powers the radiators by gravity, but if you prefer
to use solid fuel, then at the other end of the
saloon is the Villager stove.
Narrowboats normally are fitted with either a
shower or a bath, but in this instance there is a
combination of the two.
Powered by a BMC 1.5 diesel with a Hurth
HBW100 mechanical gearbox, Firebird is fitted
with traditional features including a pigeon box,
