Norfolk manufacturer collaborates with Tyler Wilson on new range
Two established names in British
boatbuilding have joined forces
to create a new range of narrowboat.
Tyler Wilson, based in Sheffield,
and Broom Boats, based in Norfolk,
are creating a range of Tyler Broom
boats designed specifically for
inland waterway and canal cruising.
The boats will be marketed and sold
by Tingdene Marinas and Boat Sales.
The very first product of this joint
partnership is a 58ft narrow beam
semi-traditional stern model. The steel
work is carried out by Tyler Wilson
before the boat is then moved to
Broom’s Brundall base for fit-out, with
the yard designing the interiors as well

Sunseeker and H.R. Owen open
Luxury car and boat group create new joint base
Sunseeker Torquay and prestige car group H. R. Owen Ecurie have launched a
combined Dartmouth Summer Showcase. Based at the brand new Royal Dart
Development next to the lower ferry slipway in Kingswear and open until the
end of September, the two businesses
have opened an office dedicated to
‘the best of yachting and motoring.’
The venture aims to amalgamate the
car group’s key brands such as Bugatti,
Bentley, Aston Martin and Lamborghini
with Sunseeker yachts. The venture
intends to promote both companies
in a series of events over the summer.

Broom to fi t out narrowboats
as handling the engineering. The idea
is to give them a lighter, fresher, more
contemporary interior than traditional
narrowboats in the hopes they will
appeal to a new audience who may
not have considered one before.
Matthew Harvey, managing director
of Broom Boats commented, “The
Tyler Broom product range marks
an exciting new venture for us. By
utilising Tyler Wilson’s expertise with
the steelwork, we can concentrate
our core boatbuilding and engineering
skills on building a fantastic boat.”
Neil Mallandain, sales director
of Tingdene Marinas and Boat Sales
added, “We have worked with Broom
for many years, and are delighted
to be collaborating with them on
this project”.
Broom boats have also recently
taken on the construction and fit-
out of English Harbour Yachts’ range
of cruisers.
