Stops Turkeys Cold
T
HE MUZZY M.O.R.E.™ ($39.99/3
pack) turkey broadhead derives its
name from the four species of turkeys
— Merriam’s, Osceola, Rio Grande, and
Eastern. Te three .051"-thick, stainless-
steel blades give you a 3" cutting diam-
eter, and are sharpened in a manner to
provide instant decapitation. It converts
to a locked, fold-back confguration with
a 1" cut simply by twisting the stainless
Trocar tip twice and folding the blades
back. Tis feature is for stowing arrows
in your quiver without having to remove
the head, but you can also shoot it in the
closed position for longer body shots on
gobblers as well as at hogs in states where
birds and boars coexist. The ferrule is
aluminum, the blades have a 1.5-degree
ofset for better fight, and it’s available
in 125 grains. Replacement blades are

This One’s For The Birds
Whitetail Institute®, a company
known for producing topnotch food
plot products for deer, now has a new
seed for turkeys. Imperial Whitetail
Turkey Select™ Chufa ($42.95/10-lb.
bag) is a perennial sedge that produces
underground tubers. Chufa tubers are a
high-energy food source for turkeys and
other birds, and some experts believe it
is the number-one preferred food choice
for turkeys. Plant it in the spring, and
when the foliage dries in the fall turkeys
will start hammering your plots. Turkey
Select does well in a variety of soil types,
so long as the plants get lots of sunlight
and the pH is between 5.5 and 7.5. Plant
it from April to June, and it will reach
maturity in approximately 100 to 120
days. One 10-lb. bag will cover ¼ acre.
