Situated on the busy Calle
Fabrica in Palma, Restaurante
Tanto Amore, owned and
run by Luca Rubiu, always
seems to attract lots of clients
throughout the year, both
lunchtime and dinner, so we
thought we should go and find
out why!
On arriving, we were
immediately struck by the
friendly nature of the staff,
even Alex the chef who came
out to say hello and their
attentive nature. We had the
choice of either eating inside,
in their recently refurbished
dining room, or outside on
their sunny terrace. The March
sunshine won the day!
We were immediately
presented with a plate full of
wafer thin slices of tomato
based garlic bread, which
was adorable and very
welcome as we were mega
hungry! Our starter was the
ubiquitous Caprese Salad, with
a wonderful Mozzarella. Not
being a huge fan of Mozzerella
this was a pleasant surprise to
me as I often find it bland
and tasteless.
This was followed by a very
tasty stuffed Aubergine with
a tomato and garlic sauce,
and very good it was too. Just
the right amount of cooking
making the aubergine just
melt in your mouth. Next came
a portion of Tagliatelle with
prawns which was cooked to
perfection with a touch of mint
in the pasta and topped with
Soller prawns.
We were now starting to slow
up and fill up so decided to
skip dessert but finish with
a Chef’s special of Ravioli in
a seafood sauce stuffed with
mussels......delicious, but with
a very strong flavoured sauce.,
which I happened to like
very much.
The service was impeccable
throughout, and with
reasonable prices for both the
food and a local Red Mallorcan
wine, it’s a place to which we
will return I’m sure!
