ACRONAUTIC DEVELOPS

LIMOUSINE RIB TENDER

Australia’s Acronautic has developed a fusion design that combines an
open-style RIB and a luxury superyacht limousine tender.
A RIB is oft en referred to as a utility boat because it is used for multiple
functions. Th e Th etis design by Acronautic adds a fresh dimension to
incorporate a limousine style cabin on a boat that can be used for diving,
beach access and cruising.
Th e design was conceptualised by Stephen Crone of Acronautic
to meet an increasing demand in passenger transport to and from luxury
superyachts. Crone has a strong background working with high-speed
luxury RIBs and is most notable for his contribution to the Dariel-built
13-metre RIB Yo k o – a luxury day boat delivered to a Monaco-based
client and nominated for the 2012 Showboats Yacht Tender Design of
the Year award.
“Rigid Infl atable Boats have always been popular as superyacht
tenders,” says Crone, Managing Director of Acronautic. “However,
transporting a large number of guests in protected comfort has
continually been a challenge – this vessel is designed to complement the
yachting experience and off er a safe, dry and luxurious experience.”
Th e Th etis off ers passengers an exhilarating ride through a typical
V-shape performance hull capable of speeds in excess of 40 knots using
twin 350hp outboard engines.
