op competition shooters in any
discipline, are a fastidious bunch, and
personal customisation is therefore all
the rage. Getting a gun to properly fi t is what
it’s all about, and once this is achieved,
muscle strain and awkward stretching,
should become things of the past!
On test here is a specialist custom stock
which can be easily fi tted by virtually anyone.
The ACZ Ultra FT Stock is designed to
provide fully adjustable features to enable
anyone to get the best from their shooting,
and is supplied by Sure Shot Airguns, based


in Suffolk. Primarily, this after-market
furniture is aimed at the more serious
shooters, who want to keep their existing
rifl es, but upgrade it in some way - to improve
the handling and fi t above all. At the time of
my test, they were available for various Air
Arms S400 derivative models, but Sure-Shot
are to expand the range to cover a variety of
makes and models. Here’s how I fared.

FIT FOR PURPOSE?
Fitting this stock should be extremely simple.
My old standard S400 was fi rst up, but when

I offered up the action, it soon became
obvious that the pressure gauge on the
underside of the action, was actually
off-centre. Not a problem when the Air Arms
standard factory stocks incorporate a fairly
wide aperture/recess for the gauge to pass
through - yet more awkward, with the Ultra FT
confi guration, where the cut-out is only just
bigger than the gauge. Having raised the
issue with Sure-Shot, subsequent models
may feature a wider opening in the gauge
