SPRAYING
The other way to apply a finish is with a sprayer.
This method is usually left to the profession-
als for a number of reasons, including the fact
that the equipment can be expensive, finding a
proper place to do the spraying can be diffi-
cult, and you need to have the proper Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE). Still, spray ap-
plication can be done by do-it–yourselfers with
some practice, patience and a little knowledge.
Note that all of the coatings mentioned in
this article can be sprayed. Also note that the
single-part products require different applica-
tion techniques than the two-part coatings.
For example, with a single-part paint only one
coat can be applied per day, but with two-part
coatings you will be able to get three coats on
without sanding.
