THE PAINTING

The Chimaera was painted using aerosols from the Brico brand.

The pearwood parts were protected by coating with ‘boiled’ linseed

oil, a product that restores the warm colour of the wood. The entire

model was finally covered with a diluted Levis varnish.

THE MECHANICAL PART

The radio control operates the propulsion and rudder of the

Chimaera. Power is supplied by six NiMH cells of 2,400 mAh

delivering 7.2 Volts. The motors are Graupner 400s, equipped with

a reduction gear and are powered through a Robbe ESC. Although

a little powerful for such a model, this propulsion system always

has power in reserve.
