Sea Jay unleashes the Samurais
QUEENSL AND boat manufacturer Sea Jay has
revealed details of some exciting new models
added to its range of aluminium fishing boats.
Based on Sea Jay’s latest Samurai Hull, the
manufacturer has released all new Vision
Console and Velocity models.
Sea Jay says the Samurai Hull will deliver a
superior ride by slicing through choppy
waters and planing efficiently while requiring
less horsepower.
The hull design features an increased rising
deadrise forming a sharper entry to improve
ride. The waterline width has been increased
to create a larger surface area and provide
faster lif t onto the plane and top end speeds.
With a raised shearline or swept bow the
internal room in the Samurai Hull has been
increased and it carries higher, safer sides.
Sea Jay said its Vision Console features
3mm plate sides and 4mm bot toms with
capped keel and welded strakes and has been
designed to achieve the best performance
possible. The Vision is a traditional centre
console with the capacity to fit an optional T
Top. Being a console layout there’s an
unclut tered platform with plenty of fishing
room. The front cast platform has two hatches
and a low floor fit ted which provides good
storage options.

NSW Government crackdown on boat parking
THE NSW Government is set to introduce a three-month limit on the parking of boat
trailers in suburban streets. Roads Minister Duncan Gay said trailers parked longer
than three months in the same place would be impounded. “Fines also will be issued
for unregistered boat trailers lef t on the street,” he said.
Mr Gay said that for too long communities near the water had ‘‘played host to boat
trailer dumping grounds and it’s just not on”.
“Currently, there is no limit on the time boat trailers can park on streets and we
have a situation where trailers are being abandoned for months and even years,
robbing people of valuable car parks. To help relocate boat trailers, the NSW
Government is investing $5 million to build dedicated off street boat trailer parking
facilities, particularly in metropolitan Sydney and we’re calling on councils and other
businesses to register their interest.”
What are your thoughts on this issue? Is the NSW Government being
discriminatory towards boat owners? Like cars, boats and trailers are subject to
registration fees – surely this means boat owners are entitled to park their boats on
public streets? Let us know what you think by emailing [email protected].
A-Salt on
corrosion
THE makers of the new A-Salt
Mixing Unit claim it’s been purposely
designed to dispense the Salt-Away
Concentrate formula.
The new unit is designed for ease of
use with a new throt tle type control valve
to switch from “off” to “rinse” to “Salt-
Away”. It will handle high Australian and
New Zealand water pressures and for use
on outboard and jetski engine flushes, and
most inboard flushes.
The A-Salt receptacle holds 100ml of
Salt-Away concentrate and has been tested
to withstand water pressure up to 120 psi.
