ombining elements from both its larger siblings in

the Monte Carlo Yachts range, and at the group level

from Beneteau, the Monte Carlo 4 (MC4) is a stylish

12-metre family cruiser breaking the stereotype mold

with its tulip-shaped bowand pastel topsides. While not unique

• Azimut and Magellano are also pushing this direction – the
  MC4 is not simply a design statement, she is a modern, workable
  family boat perfect for entertaining at the dock.
  Stepping aboard via the hydraulically-adjusted teak-decked
  swim platform, the aft cockpit is accessed by two stairs to
  starboard. But unlike many swim platforms designed purely
  for storage, this one is conceived to be an extension of the
  main deck entertaining area, with a grill and sink built into
  the transom for either quickly preparing the catch of the day,
  or turning this platform into another waterfront dining option
  with freestanding furniture. Of course you could just use it for
  your tender instead and control via the remote control... though

I’d suggest not leaving the remote control with the kids if

parents are dining on it.

Returning to the main deck, the aft cockpit is mostly

covered by the flybridge overhang, and apart from the transom

bench has been purposefully left without built-in furniture

to allow the owner to use the area as befits their cruising with

freestanding furniture.

Embracing the one level entertainment area, the three-

paneled glass saloon doors fold back to enable the whole teak

and holly-inlaid main deck to be a single level entertaining

area. Served by the linear galley to port, with all appliances

under-counter, the sink under a solid surface lid and the stove

with a glass top, the entire area turns effectively into a sideboard

counter for hors d’oeuvres. With further grills in the transom and

flybridge, there’s more than enough grilling area, with alfresco

placement keeping the interior aroma free.

Breaking from the light oak cabinetry, to starboard, the

inbuilt semi-circular sofa for six is served by a bi-fold teak table
