HODGDON

Hodgdon Yachts had the all-new 10.5 m
limousine tender on display at the Monaco
Yacht Show and we took her out to sea and
put her through her paces. Th e tender is the
422 nd hull built by the family owned and run
shipyard in Maine, and will be the 10th tender
the yard has built since 2011. Designed by
Michael Peters Yacht Design, she is archetype
of the builder’s Venetian series custom
tenders, a range that spans 8.5 m to 12 m.
She features a dramatic exterior paint scheme
with a surprisingly chic optional leather
and specialty wood veneer interior. She can
accommodate up to 11 guests, including two
oversized owners’ seats. Amenities consist
of a high-defi nition entertainment system,
refrigerator/bar, and climate control. Th e
port and starboard side windows power
down, to reveal generous guest boarding
access. Th e entire salon hardtop rises
hydraulically, which allows full-height
headroom, for ease of boarding and 360
degrees of visibility.

JP RIBS

New guys on the block and created by a
father and son duo, the custom tender
brand JP RIBS has just been launched on
the subtropical north coast of New Zealand.
Superyacht captain Jonathan Edgar has
partnered with his father, Phil, to craft a line
of custom RIBS which pairs a superyacht
standard-fi nish with exceptionally high
performance. What they came up with is a
hand-craft ed boat that fuses an unparalleled
performance with quality and endurance.
Th ese vessels are capable of reaching up to
50+ knots and combine a slick fi nish and
high-spec technology, with the care and
attention is only possible through the process
of hand moulding.
