SPOTLIGHT

WILLIAMS

Williams Jet Tenders unveiled the Sportjet
400, the third model in the Sportjet range,
at both the Cannes Yachting Festival and the
Southampton Boat Show last year. Powered
by one of the cleanest and quietest engines in
the industry, the BRP Rotax 4-TEC 125HP,
the 400 is capable of reaching speeds in
excess of 71 km/ 44 miles per hour. With this
blistering performance and an exhilarating
ride, we think it is perfect for wakeboarding
and water skiing. Th e model has huge appeal
to standalone boaters, as well as being the
perfect solution for yacht owners looking
for a new tender. As a yacht tender, it off ers
supreme safety with no exposed propeller,
easy boarding and a concealed bathing ladder
while off ering the stability and comfort that
only a RIB can give.

WINDY

Launched last year, and turning heads at the
Monaco Yacht Show, the Dubois designed
Windy SR52 Blackbird has been creating
quite a stir. At 16.1 m (52 ft ), this rather swish
powerboat is one of the most stylish craft on
the market today. Conceived initially as a
high-speed large sailing yacht tender, it will
indeed prove an ideal role for what is a very
adaptable craft. However, as a fast weekender
or day boat in her own right, we suspect she
will have a very wide appeal.
“In the past year we have signed contracts
for a couple of customised limousine
tenders, as well as sport tenders,” says Windy
Scandinavia AB COO Carl Fornander. “Th is
will keep us busy at the yard in Västervik
through 2016. Blackbird is the queen of the
line-up, but there is much more in the pipeline
following her wake.”
