THE VIEWS

The Top of the Rock atop NYC’s iconic Rockefeller
Center and the observation deck of the Empire
State Building is where we’ve always gone to get
those gorgeous twinkly-light views over the city.
But One World Trade Center is now up and running
and at 1776ft stands as the tallest building in
the western hemisphere.
Visiting Ground Zero is a poignant experience.
The space occupied by the original World Trade Center
towers has been left startingly empty with water features
draining into the deep foundations. There’s a museum
set up to commemorate the lives lost and the heroes
that were born that day.
The new One World Trade Center has dedicated
its top floors – from 100 to 102 – to the One World
Observatory which apart from providing panoramic
views also has interactive displays detailing the city
and its history. Pro tip: Head up to the observatory
by twilight for the best photos!
