BENETTI LEADING THE WAY FOR
SUPERYACHT SECTOR IN ASIA
THE ITALIAN YACHT BRAND BENETTI has continued to increase its
commitment in the Asia-Pacific region, reporting that it is now working
with more than 200 brokers in Asia.C&N AND WEALTH-X REPORT ON

CAMPER & NICHOLSONS (C&N) and Wealth-X released a report on
the world’s wealthy and the luxury yachting sector.
Wealth-X analysed data from 211,275 Ultra High Net Worth
Individuals (UHNWI) UHNWI – defined as those with a minimum net
worth of US$30 million – globally. The data identified three factors that
marked these experiences as desirable: time or making every moment
count, privacy during the experience and personalisation to both meet
individual tastes and to provide something truly one of a kind.
Key findings from the report include:
The average value of a superyacht owned by an UHNWI is just
over US$10 million. Only 1,512 individuals own a superyacht –
that’s only one for every 141 UHNWIs – and one third of them are
billionaires. The top countries for UHNWI superyacht owners are the
United States (33%), United Kingdom (11%), Italy (5%), Australia (4%)
and Russia (3%). UHNWIs make up about 98% of the share of the
luxury market for yachts, with an annual spend of US$22 billion.

is dedicated to driving sales growth and setting new standards for
after-sales service here. The brand has a fleet of 14 yachts based in the
Asia-Pacific region, with eight yachts in Hong Kong ranging from 93ft
to 65m. Benetti participated in the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show
with its magnificent Classic Supreme 132’ motor yacht Ming fa, the
largest yacht at the show.
In early April, Benetti won the Best Custom Built Yacht award at
the 2016 Asia Boating Awards organised by Blu Inc Media, publisher
of Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating magazines. The award is
in recognition of Benetti’s 63-metre motor yacht FB265 11.11, which
is characterised by elegant lines and a distinctive vertical axe bow.
It is also the second plumb-bow yacht designed by Benetti’s naval
architects.
