As a former yacht captain, Gonsalves was well suited to care for
Meridian. All Taylor asked was that he deliver the boat to and from
the Caribbean and pay for fuel and any minor upgrades needed for
the trip. A two-week vacation for Taylor and his family aboard the
boat over the holidays gave the Gonsalveses the opportunity to
step of and spend some time aboard Rebecca with the Smiths.
