Hypersonic Missiles
Sam Fender
Towards the end of a phenomenal year that
has seen him sell thousands of tickets an
hour and win the Critics’ Choice accolade
at the BRIT Awards, the English singer-
songwriter has released his debut studio
album, Hypersonic Missiles. Early reviews
suggest that it’s an astonishingly strong
collection sure to resonate with fans of
alternative rock.
FIVE FACTS:
- Fender was born on April 25, 1994 in
North Shields, near the northeast England
city of Newcastle. - Seven of the album’s 13 tracks were
released as singles prior to the album’s

2017, when “Play God” was brought out. - On the British TV magazine show The
One Show, Fender spoke of recently having
dinner with Elton John at his Windsor house,
calling him “a lovely guy”. - “My dad used to do residencies in all
the social clubs in Newcastle,” Fender also
