This pretty cutter seems to be a restoration from another era, but
she is actually almost brand new, designed by Van de Stadt and
her present owner. Inspired by the history of the Bristol Channel
pilot cutters and designs by W.Atkins and J.Alden from the 1930’s
she has a traditional appearance above the water line and her
fast and modern lines below provide for a very easy to sail boat,
due to the shallow modern keel and stern hung rudder. Albatros
ref lects the owner’s keenness for simplicity, ease of handling and
trouble-free maintenance. She was built with epoxy-wood-core for
more internal space and more strength-to-weight ratio and many
