WEARING
JOHN
MALKOVICH
Actor and director John
Malkovich has been
interested in clothes and
fashion photography
since childhood. He
studied costuming at
college and, to this day,
does costume design for
the theater. He has
walked on the runways
of Comme des Garçons,
and was featured in ad
campaigns for Prada and
Giorgio Armani.
Malkovich launched an
eponymous line in the
early 2000s and his
brand Technobohemian
debuted in 2011. His
latest design effort is a
spring/summer
menswear collection,
complete with linen
trousers, band collar
shirts and silk scarves.
The collection has a
relaxed Euro feel, which
he describes as
“elegant, discreet, and
with interesting details”.
As Malkovich says: “It’s a
line for people who
appreciate fabric – I’m a
lifelong fabric collector
and I love interesting
fabric that’s a little bit
out of the mainstream.”
