Motor Boat & Yachting — November 2017

(Tuis.) #1

Westwood, under the guidance of
its new Northern Irish owners, is
building its range at a steady pace.
The company isn’t in the position
to jump feet first into a large fleet
of new models so after working its
magic on the A405 it has taken the
sensible approach to use the same
hull and engine options to create
a coupé version dubbed the C405.
It made its global debut at the show
and arrived sporting an eye-catching
blue hull, bonded windows and
a Webasto sliding glass roof.

The relationship between the
cockpit, saloon and galley on the
lower deck is key to this boat’s charm.
If the mutli-level layout of the aft cabin
boat seems too much like hard work,
the way the cockpit and saloon merge
together with the lower deck galley on
the C405 is sure to appeal.
The clean décor and neutral tones
make for a welcoming interior that
bristles with homely comfort.
The master cabin forward is well
appointed and includes a split shower
room and toilet, though guests may

Prestige 460

The 460 uses the same hull and
engines as the outgoing 450 but
some reworking of the cockpit and
lower deck has been employed to
improve the living spaces. The cockpit
now has a more sociable L-shaped
seating configuration with a single
walkway to starboard as opposed
to the twin walkways of the 450.
Prestige has done away with
separate access to the master cabin
in the saloon in a bid to improve space
in the master cabin. It’s worked – both
cabins are now accessed via the

forward companionway but the
payoff is a midships master cabin
that is better proportioned than its
predecessor. The VIP cabin is a fine
space, boosted by a generous ensuite
that also acts as the day heads.
The saloon benefits from the
removal of the master cabin staircase
too with a larger galley situated on
the opposite side of the saloon just
inside the doors.
With IPS500 and 600 the two
engine options, performance isn’t
blistering but expect a top speed of

31 knots and a comfortable cruise
of 25 knots.

the berths in their cabin, even if they
do get their own ensuite.
