You remember that one time?
You know the one. That time when
something completely unexpected
and hilarious happened on a boating
trip? How about that one that brought
a potential disaster a little too close
for comfort? We all still have a good
laugh about the time staff writer Trevor
Mason was “volunteered” to test the
compact inflating life jackets we wore
for last year’s Shootout, and our editorial
meetings frequently feature at least one
fond memory or misadventure on the
water.
As a relative newcomer to the industry,
hearing these stories encourages my
interest in boating, and I frequently listen
for details that might help me avoid futureinjury or embarrassment. For instance,
there are a great many lakes I have
heard mentioned in these conversations
that have ended up on my “someday”
list. From what I have seen and from
my own experience, boating stories like
these have the power to make everyone
involved laugh or take a grateful breath
when they come up in conversation even
years after they originally happened.
More than that, these stories are what
bring us back to the water time and time
again in the first place.
For many years, our forum has
shown the camaraderie that can exist
between those who share these stories,
sharing advice, helping newcomers, and
posting photos of recent adventures. Thisremarkable community brings people
from all kinds of backgrounds together
around a single abiding interest to swap
stories and prepare to make more.
Now, we are excited to announce the
upcoming launch of a new pontooning
club, a club which will further bring
together the aficionados of this lifestyle
into a unified group where we can share
the continuing adventure of pontooning
with others who share the same kinds
of stories and a similar interest in the
boating lifestyle.
The new pontooning club, which is
presently in pre-launch development,
will operate on all the major social
media platforms to provide a further
