sense of community that the forum
has already created. Pontoon & Deck
Boat Publisher Greg Larsen said,
“Pontooning has become a lifestyle to be
proud of. We want to create a place for
pontooners worldwide to converse and to
celebrate their time on the water. We want
them to share success stories, ask and
give advice, and more. This community
will enhance the overall boating
experience.”
Though many of the details are still
in development, those who sign up
for the pontooning club will receive a
complimentary one-year subscription to
PDB magazine, a free “Go Pontooning”
sticker, and a monthly newsletter
with industry updates in addition to
membership in all the club’s social media
pages. These pages will form new hubs
for the pontooning community to post
pictures and share those all-important
stories.
Beyond creating an online community
for sharing experiences, the pontooning
club will also add value to its members’
lives in other ways. The pontooning club
will hold an annual event for members to
get together to meet in person and spend
a day on the lake. We are also in the
process of finding business partners who
would be interested in offering discounts
to club members on marine products,
marina stores, gas, insurance, and the
like. We are currently kicking around
ideas for club t-shirts and flags as well.
“The purpose of the pontooning club is
to bring pontooners together from around
the world to share their stories with one
another and to offer added value to make
their pontooning experience the best it
can be,” added Larsen.
And speaking of adding value, how’s
this for awesome? Members of the club
will also be entered into a series of
giveaway sweepstakes with a chance
to win boating related products every
month, and you will also be entered into
an annual sweepstakes to win a brand
new PONTOON BOAT! We at PDB are
excited to offer opportunities like these
to the pontooning community for all the
stories they have shared with us over the
years, and we hope that the new pontoon
club’s groups on the various social media
platforms will become the preferred hub
of stories great and small into the future.
This new pontoon club will bring
together the community of boaters in
a grand new way to share their stories
and to exchange ideas, advice, and
encouragement with your fellow boaters
and events which will certainly leave new
stories in their wake.
As we continue to work out the final
pre-launch details for the new pontoon
club, we are excited by the project’s
grand potential to take the community of
boaters to the next level. You can look
forward to updates on our website and in
subsequent issues as this project nears
completion. Until then, continue to make
memories that will turn into stories, which
will feed this growing community.
