NEW BOATS

If you know you want a 40ft Najad, you’ve
got more choices to make than ever
before. Najad’s new 395 is available in
either aft cockpit (AC) or centre cockpit
(CC) configuration; both are based on the
same Farr Yacht-designed hull. Then you’ll
have to choose which deck and which of
the Ken Freivokh-styled interior options
you like the most.
Below decks, forward of the
companionway, both versions can be
fitted with either a bench seat or two
armchairs to starboard, with or without
a forward heads compartment and the
choice of an offset double or vee berth
forward. Abaft the companionway, the
centre cockpit has a vast owner’s cabin
and looks like an update of the ever
popular 380. The aft cockpit version
can be fitted with one or two double

cabins. To port on both models is a linear
galley leading aft. Opposite the galley, to
starboard, is a heads compartment with
the option of a chart table or a Pullman
berth on the AC version, although this
would mean the only heads is in the
forecabin.

galley to port. The owners benefit from
a large en suite with separate shower
compartment if they choose the aft end.

There is also an option to have a large
owners' cabin forward, again with ensuite,
or to have two cabins forward, one of
which is a Pullman.
The saloon will get plenty of light from
the wrap-around coachroof windows, but
only the raised chart table position really
gets a view out.
