Boat International US Edition — December 2017

(Nancy Kaufman) #1

It’s hard to think of a more appropriate car to feature in
Boat International’s art deco-inspired fashion shoot than this
sparkling Andalusian White Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II. The
bespoke black and tan interior provides a striking contrast to its
cool-toned exterior, and brings a dramatic quality to the shoot.
Smaller than the Phantom, the Ghost was designed to be a less
formal and more contemporary expression of Rolls-Royce
luxury. Its namesake is the most famous car in the company’s
history – the Silver Ghost, first produced in 1906 – and the Ghost
series has now forged its own place as Rolls-Royce royalty. The
series was so successful that the discreetly updated Ghost II was

revealed in 2014. Each model has been crafted by more than 60
pairs of hands, and the company’s Bespoke service means your
Ghost can be matched to the color of your favorite lipstick or
football team, while exquisite details include self-righting wheel
centers, so the famous monogram is always upright.
Rolls-Royce is naturally entwined with the superyacht world.
Its annual pop-up store in Sardinia’s Porto Cervo has become a
draw for owners during the Mediterranean season and last year
the firm revealed the bespoke Phantom design Nautica –
inspired by classic yacht design. The Ghost II will certainly fit
beautifully into a yacht owner’s garage. rolls-roycemotorcars.com
