British luxury car maker Aston Martin is taking the plunge into the personal sub arena
with Project Neptune. Via Aston Martin Consulting, the company is adding its design
flair and branding to a platform built by Florida’s Triton Submarines.
The admittedly ultra good looking version of Triton’s low profile sub almost begs for
a tuxedo-clad operator and two glamorous guests. The three passenger submarine is
particularly well suited to the superyacht market thanks to its petite dimensions and
light weight, plus enticing outer styling that would not look out of place on the aft deck
of a sleek superyacht or even 1,000ft or more below the waves.
Project Neptune, still a concept at this stage, would be available only as a limited
edition series, which its $4 million price tag would almost g uarantee. There is no word
( yet) on the appearance of this sub or its prototype in the next installment of the Bond
movie franchise or a famous American owner’s Bond branded yacht. astonmartin.com
