Centerpiece tables

Davidson introduces a trifecta of bold black
dining tables for autumn. Following the trend for
visually engaging, strong pieces, the Chatsworth dining
table (right) is of particular note, with its radial veneer pattern that
gives dimension and interest to the piece. The table is made of hand
tinted black sycamore and has a brushed brass trim. For a more
contemporary look, the Olympia cuts a bold form with its rectangular
top and two shaped pedestals. The open-grain oak is tinted in a dark
satin, while antique brass detailing highlights the rich wood tone.

Golden light

Traces left in the sand by
receding tides and the
beaming light reflected
through waves were the
inspiration for the new Flux
lamp from Hong Kong design
duo Ed Ng and Terence Ngan
of AB Concept. The pair have
collaborated with Czech
contemporary glassware
manufacturers Lasvit on their
first statement lighting piece.
They wanted to create a light
that would fill a void with
warmth and set the mood.
No two lamps are the same:
each is hand-blown in lead
crystal and shaped around
hand-carved timber. The
clear-top crystal merges with
layers of gold and platinum,
trapping and refracting light
within the layers to give the
illusion of water in motion.

Adventurous design

Inspired by Italy’s seafaring history, Oro
Bianco’s new Maritime Collection evokes
the romantic spirit of merchant ships
and gentleman travelers of a bygone era.
With richly stained woods, white bone
inlay and leather lined shelves, each
piece has a masculine edge balanced
by intricate nautical detailing. The
collection’s centerpiece is the grand
Maritime Cocktail Cabinet (left), which
opens to reveal a jewelry box of crystal
glasses and decanters. The materials
can be customized with high gloss
wood or mother-of-pearl inlays and
each piece takes 16 weeks to make.
