PORSCHE ON THE WATER

D

esigned in collaboration with Studio F.A. Porsche, the new Dynamiq 35m GTT
115 superyacht caused a stir at the recent Monaco Yacht Show.
Smooth curves dominate the design, reminiscent of waves rising through
the water. A pair of MAN V12 diesels produce 1,627hp and give the yacht a max
speed of 21 knots. With her 24,000 litres of fuel she has a range over 3,400 nautical miles.
Roland Heiler, CEO of Studio F. A. Porsche, says the vessel is “designed to appeal to
car lovers and forward-thinking yacht owners who appreciate the advantages of speed,
style and our philosophy of intelligent performance.”
Production has been limited to seven, making the GTT 115 a true collector’s item.
She’s listed for sale at a shade under €14 million, but if you’re feeling extravagant, there
are plenty of optional extras. For example, buyers can spend $400,000 on deck furniture
and $300,000 for interior appointments from Minotti.

FRANK RACING’S

7th COASTAL WIN

S

kippered by Simon Hull, the big ORMA
Frank Sailing took her seventh Coastal
Classic title over Labour Weekend,
completing the course in six hours, four
minutes and 44 seconds. This is well short of the
race’s current record – held by Frank Racing – of
five hours, 13 minutes and 21 seconds set in 2015.
The battle was between Frank Racing and
Beau Geste, the gigantic new MOD70 newly
acquired by Hong Kong sailor Karl Kwok, which
finished in second, just eight minutes later.

Shane Bellingham’s 8.5m French-built
catamaran Charleston, one of the ten smallest
boats in the fleet, was third to finish, in 8 hours,
18 minutes and 5 seconds – narrowly outside of
the record window for its division.
The PIC Coastal Classic, in its 35th year, is
New Zealand’s biggest yacht race and one of the
biggest of its type in the world. The race starts
off Devonport Wharf in Auckland and finishes off
Russell Wharf in the Bay of Islands. This year’s
event attracted 150 yachts.
