he all-new Sensation 23-
foot shows that the company
is continuously innovating
to stay abreast of the latest
technology. The standard Sensation
23 has been custom-made to house a
built-in Volvo drive which is unlike any
other. Instead of a tradition propulsion
unit which pushes water, it instead faces
forward to pull the water through the
propeller. We’ll delve deeper into the
engine a little later, but let’s first start
with the onboard features that make this
craft so unique.
Deck layout
You’ll never be pressed for space onboard
as there’s enough seating for far more
than eight of your mates. Comfortable
U-shaped wrap-around seating at the
stern maximises on the available room
without separating the areas – and when
the sun is beaming down, you’re sure
to make use of the extra length to really
sprawl out on. In the cockpit mid ship,
two swivel bucket seats means you can
be part of the conversation and not just
the friendly Uber boat driver for the day.
Upfront, the bow section quickly convertsfrom a conventional bow-rider to a large
sun pad from which the kids can feel the
wind through their hair as your power
down the river. Now, I prefer not having
to constantly worry about messing up the
seats with passengers entering and exiting
the boat from the stern, and I feel like the
builders know that this can be an issue.
For this, they have creatively allowed for a
cut out walkthrough section so that your
guests (and their muddy shoes!) won’t
leave permanent ‘I was here’ scuff marks.
In the step-down landing, you’ll also find
a nifty, built-in cooler box which is perfect
for storing some cold drinks for the day
without getting in the way – but just a
suggestion, make sure it’s closed when not
in use as you may be wondering where
young Timmy disappeared to when he was
hopping onboard.
Take note of the hand-made decking,
which I just love. It goes a long way to give
this boat a classy, high-quality look and
feel, similar imported boats.
When it comes to storage, the
Sensation 23 has got plenty! Find roomy
compartments under all of the seats,
ensuring that you can be prepped and
armed for anything the day could throw
at you.
