agle Dam and Game Reserve
is set in the Valley of a
Thousand Hills and is located
about an hour from Durban
and Pietermaritzburg. This beautifully
scenic area offers excellent fishing
opportunities, kayaking and canoeing,
nature trails, lots of water sports and
game viewing. Nagle Dam is fed by the
uMngeni River, which also feeds the
Midmar Dam and the Inanda Dam.
Game viewing should be on your “to do”

list as you will get to see giraffe, eland,
buffalo, herons, zebra, impala, duiker
and antelope. If birding is on your list,
then don’t forget to bring along your
binoculars as you will spot spoonbills and
sparrowhawks, among numerous others.
The dam also offers excellent bass fishing
and houses a fish hatchery that offers
booked guided tours.
There is a fully equipped conference
centre offering accommodation for up to
18 guests, offering the perfect opportunity

to host a team building event for your
company or host a workshop.
All accommodation at the dam offers
braai facilities and is self-catering. If
you really want to relax, opt for the fully
catered option when you book and put
your feet up and let others do the work
for you.
An onsite café offers basics such as
snacks, drinks and wood. Extra beds
are available on request for any of the
accommodation options.
