hile perusing the
aisles of Boots
recently to buy
a new lipstick
for the first time
in years, a friend remarked how
expensive she thought they were
nowadays. (If she was surprised
by these prices, I daren’t tell
her about the £37, completely
colourless Pat McGrath lip balm
I recently bought, or that a
Christian Louboutin lipstick will
set you back £70...)
This chic and cheerful selection of lipsticks
It did get me thinking, though,
that with so many mass-market
brands producing top-quality
formulas nowadays, perhaps you
don’t have to spend a fortune if
you fancy trying a new slick of
colour on your lips. These are all
brands you’ll know, are widely
available and will give you change
from a tenner.
