What to

Peaky Blinders
Cillian Murphy is back as Birmingham crime
boss Tommy Shelby in the fifth series of BBC
hit drama Peaky Blinders. The six-part series
kicks off in 1929 when the Shelby family is
feeling the financial strain of the Wall Street
Crash. But the family’s money woes are just
part of their problems as Tommy adjusts to life
as an MP while keeping his criminal empire
afloat. The family is also faced with a new
enemy in the form of British fascist leader
Oswald Mosley, played by Sam Claflin.
Tonight and Monday, 9pm and 9.30pm, BBC1

Dad’s Army: The Lost Episodes
A star-studded line-up that includes Robert
Bathurst, Kevin McNally, Timothy West and
Mathew Horne recreates three lost episodes
from classic comedy Dad’s Army. The shows,
from the second series, first aired in 1969 but
disappeared from the BBC archive. This new
spin on an old favourite is well worth a watch.
Tonight to Tuesday, 8pm, Gold

The Great British Bake Off
The hit show is back with a fresh batch of
bakers rising to the occasion and battling it out
in the tent over a series of three challenges.
After taking on the signature bake, technical
challenge and – fan favourite – showstopper,
each baker will then have to face judges Paul
Hollywood and Prue Leith.
Tuesday, 8pm, Channel 4

Sanditon
Screenplay writer Andrew Davies returns with
this adaptation of Jane Austen’s unfinished
novel, Sanditon. When Charlotte Heywood
(Rose Williams) visits Sanditon, she finds
a society very different from her own in this
eight-parter with Anne Reid, from Last Tango In
Halifax, and Death In Paradise’s Kris Marshall.
Tonight, 9pm, ITV

Old favourites and new drama – Rianne Ison reveals the best on the box

Coronation Street
Jan comes back for Eileen tomorrow, with a
revelation and a declaration of love. How will
she react when he suggests they start a new
life in Amsterdam? Elsewhere, Robert is forced
into further deception after Michelle sees
a potentially incriminating text on his phone.

EastEnders
Mel goes to desperate lengths to help Hunter.
But with his escape from jail front-page news,
her behaviour arouses Ben’s suspicions.
Whitney, meanwhile, assures fiancé Callum
she cares about their future – not his past.

Emmerdale
As Frank is laid to rest, Tracy is
desperate to prove he had nothing
to do with the blaze but is appalled
to find Vanessa refusing to back her.
Meanwhile, Megan delivers a few
home truths to mourners before
coming to a life-changing decision.

Hollyoaks
Luke (above right) returns this week. Ollie
struggles to lie about the fact that Luke is
DJ’s dad. Tony then decides to hold a barbecue
at The Hutch in the hope of finding Harry.

Neighbours

after her car is found abandoned
in the middle of nowhere. In other
news, Paul’s ex-wife, Lyn Scully,
