Newark Air Museum staff have
completed the restoration of Cessna 310,
G-APNJ. The aircraft has been painted to
represent a U-3A Blue Canoe, a variant
of the 310 used by the USAF in utility,
light liaison and communications roles.
The museum hopes that repainting
the Cessna twin in military colours
will stimulate interest in the twin-
engined type and plans to feature it in
a photography event to be held during
early 2019.

Wessex Returned to Rescue Colours
Morayvia has completed the repaint of its Westland Wessex HU.5,
XT466. The aircraft is now in the colours it wore prior to serving in
the Falklands War.

NAS on April 27, 1982 and painted overall dark green for service in
the South Atlantic.
After the war, the Wessex was returned to the UK and retired
from ying duties, having accumulated 3,089 ying hours. It is
understood to have last own in September 1982 whilst at San

Carlos in the Falkland Islands, with 845 NAS, later being used
as a ground instructional airframe by the Defence School of
Aeronautical Engineering at RAF Cosford and latterly Weeton
Barracks, Lancashire.
The Wessex was acquired by Morayvia, based in Kinloss,
Scotland, in December 2017 with much of the summer being
dedicated to returning it to its original search and rescue markings.
On September 17 XT466 was named Duke of York at a formal

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner prototype,
N787BA/ZA001, has gone on display
at Flight of Dreams, a new visitor
centre close to Nagoya Chubu Centrair
Airport. The aircraft was donated by
Boeing to mark the contribution made
to the Dreamliner project by Japan’s
aerospace industry, which is largely
based around Nagoya, Chubu.

The attraction, opened on October 12,
consists of two distinct areas; Flight Park
and Seattle Terrace. The former, which has
N787BA at its heart, is an aviation-themed
hands-on learning zone and features
an interactive ‘tour’ of the Dreamliner.
production line as well as a 787 simulator.
Seattle Park is a US-themed area with
several eateries and shops, including the

rst Boeing Store outside the States. Flight
of Dreams is jointly sponsored by Japan
Airlines and All Nippon Airlines, both of
which operate the Boeing 787 – the latter
being the type’s launch customer.
