- Terminology is a major impediment to truly integrated approaches.
OBJECTIVES
- To emphasize the importance of economic considerations in
quality assessment of fresh fruits and vegetables and present
approaches for integrating economics and quality. - To present the IQM model, which integrates quality assessment
of processed vegetables with consumer requirements. - To incorporate use of soft-systems methodology as a basis for
integrating research on fresh fruit and vegetable quality. - To use a problem-based approach as a point of integration for
research on fruit and vegetable quality. - To provide a set of terms and concepts that will help serve as a
basis for integrated approaches to fruit and vegetable quality.
