Polyphenylene sulphide
grade material
DSM Engineering Plastics (Troy, Mich.)
is adding to its Xytron material portfolio
to address design challenges in electric
vehicle thermal management. The all-
new Xytron G4080HR is a 40% glass-
filled polyphenylene sulphide (PPS)
engineered to
provide strength,
weld-line perfor-
mance and chem-
ical resistance.
According to the
company, in a
recent 3,000-hour 135°C (275°F) water-
glycol fluid test versus a comparable
competitor grade, Xytron G4080HR
delivered 114% higher tensile strength
and 63% higher elongation at break. Its
unique properties and water-glycol fluid
resistance make it a suitable solution
for challenging applications such as
thermal management modules, thermo-
stat housings and electric pumps.

Print preparation software
Driven by a powerful integrated simula-
tion engine, print preparation software
Flow from VELO3D (Campbell, Calif.)
ensures predictable print outcomes,
while its native CAD workflow controls
performance consistent with the design
intent and significantly reduces print
preparation time. Working in concert
with VELO3D’s Sapphire system, Flow
enables next generation SupportFree
additive manufacturing for parts previ-
ously not possible. Flow is specifically
designed for Sapphire, VELO3D’s laser
fusion metal additive manufacturing
system. It
includes
tools that
help with
part ori-
entation,
support generation, simulated print
predictions, per-surface process appli-
cation, slice composer and process re-
view. As a result, manufacturers can
now print complex part geometries

Vertical airflow cabinet oven
No. 828 is a 500°F (260°C) cabinet
oven from Grieve (Round Lake, Ill.) used
to finish batch loads of metal parts at
the customer’s facility. Workspace di-
mensions of this oven measure 26 in W
x 26 in D x 38 in H (660 mm W x 660
mm D x 965 mm H). The oven features
6.6 kW (8.8
hp) installed
in Nichrome
wire heating
elements,
while a 700
CFM, 0.5 hp
(0.37 kW)
recirculating
blower provides vertical upward airflow
to the workload. This Grieve cabinet
oven has 4-in (102-mm) insulated walls,
an aluminized steel exterior and Type
430 stainless steel interior. Controls on
the No. 828 include a digital indicating
temperature controller, manual reset
excess temperature with separate con-
tactors and a recirculating blower air-
flow-safety switch.

Acrylate adhesives
Huntsman Advanced Materials’ (The
Woodlands, Texas) two fast-curing ac-
rylate adhesives ARALDITE 2050 and
ARALDITE 2051 are designed to accel-
erate on- and off-site bonding, even
under extreme conditions of tempera-
ture and humidity. Part of the compa-
ny’s expanding structural adhesives
portfolio, the new ARALDITE brand
products bring wide-ranging processing
benefits to assembly, maintenance and

Expanded product catalog
Aurora Bearing Company’s
(Montgomery, Ill.) latest product cata-
log 319 features the company’s newest
product offerings, as well as legacy
components. This new 128-page publi-
cation is a graphically enhanced techni-
cal resource that will assist engineers in
designing with and
specifying motion
transfer compo-
nents from Aurora’s
complete line of rod
ends and spherical
bearings. It includes
12 series of SAE AS
series Mil Spec
bearings and six
new SAE AS ap-
proved series. Find listings for special
race car items, as well as commercial/
industrial through SAE AS approved. A
full range of metric rod ends and spher-
ical bearings are also conveniently listed
and categorized. The new catalog is
available as a hard copy as part of
Aurora’s engineering library that also
includes 2 and 3D part drawings.

SupportFree, enabling volume manu-
facturing of parts that are otherwise
impossible or uneconomical to print
due to hard-to-remove support struc-
tures. Flow key features include a new
physics-driven simulation engine, pow-
erful simulation utility, and a sophisti-
cated composer.

repair bonding
operations in
the bus and
truck, railway,
wind and ma-
rine industries,
along with gen-
eral industrial applications. ARALDITE
2050 is ultra-fast curing and speeds up
bonding when working in temperatures
as low as -20°C (-4°F), as well as under
water, in saltwater or in humid climates.
ARALDITE 2051 is also fast curing but
has a slightly longer open time, making
it more suitable for use in warm envi-
ronments of up to 40°C (104°F) and in
areas of high humidity. With minimum
surface pre-treatment, the adhesives
have been shown to offer high adhesion
on different substrates such as metals,
composites and thermoplastics.
